04 Aug Wild Ravens Industrial Farmhouse Launch & Tap Takeover
FRIDAY 4TH AUGUST
THE CATFISH, FITZROY
FACEBOOK EVENT: https://www.facebook.com/events/113687705951474/
Released under the experimental barrel-focused ‘Wild Ravens‘ banner, ‘Industrial Farmhouse‘ presents itself as a 5.7%, 16 IBU, dry saison.
Brewed in collaboration with The Commons (Portland, OR) during Good Beer Week 2017 as part of The Catfish’s “Good Beer Mates” series. Inspired by The Commons’ flagship “Urban Farmhouse” but brewed with distinct Australian ingredients, this beer celebrates the brewers’ shared enthusiasm for simple recipes expressing unique local ingredients. The beer features a portion of barrel-aged golden sour ale hand-selected on brew day by The Commons and The Catfish offering exciting cellaring potential and flavour evolution.
Barrel-aged component: Wild Ravens golden sour base (pale malt, rye, oats) aged 6 months in french-oak wine barrels with our house mixed culture of wild yeast and lactic acid bacteria.
3 Ravens will take over 7 of our taps, and we’ll be pouring other beers from their ‘Wild Ravens’ series, plus offering some very limited ‘Urban Farmhouse’ – the beer that inspired the collab.
We’ll also be hosting FREE brewer-guided tastings for those wanting to delve deeper into the process, featuring 4 Wild Ravens beers, and Commons ‘Urban Farmhouse’ at 5:45 and 6:30pm.
As always, Garry 7 will be spinning some sweet wax tunes from 5:30pm, and Justin Yap Band will taking over the Front Bar for a rare free show from 9pm.
